Highlight of the Week
5th Grade Students Prepare for
Young Ameritown
Fifth grade
students are preparing to lead a community called Young Ameritown next Friday.
Young Ameritown is an opportunity for our students to apply the concepts of
democracy, collaboration and leadership.
Some of our fifth graders spoke to their peers about their candidacy for
select leadership roles, such as town major and judge. I was proud of our students’ desire to
support their peers and ability to articulate their strengths and leadership
style. I know all of our fifth graders
are excited to go to Young Ameritown next week.
State TCAP Testing
Our third through fifth grade students worked
hard on the state assessment this week.
As you recall, the Transitional Colorado
Assessment Program (TCAP) will measure students’ achievement
and growth in the area of reading, writing and math. Students will complete the test next week
(see the schedule below). Please make
sure your child has a good breakfast and a good night sleep. We ask that you see the schedule below
and schedule outside appointments around these times.
