SCHOOL TIME CHANGE SURVEY FOR 2016/2017Gold Rush Elementary School is gathering input from the school community about a possible change of school hours starting August of 2016. Gold Rush is considering changing the school hours to 8:30AM - 3:30 PM based on prior staff and parent feedback. Students would enter the building starting at 8:30 AM when the first bell rings. The tardy bell would ring at 8:35 AM. This change would eliminate before school transitions for some students and allow others to participate in additional after school activities. Existing bus routes, the length of the school day and before and after school care would remain the same with the earlier start time. Please complete this survey by Tuesday, January 19th. Your input is appreciated.

SHADE STRUCTURE UPDATEWe wanted to update the community regarding our proposed shade structure that was funded with proceeds from the Digger Dash. We met with the district to discuss logistics, such as size of structure and placement on the property. We plan to meet again when the snow thaws to firm things up and schedule the installation.
CHANGE IN BUS ROUTEBeginning January 19, 2016, Gold Rush will be serviced by Route 189 (Bear) replacing Route 180 (Dolphin). Please contact transportation with any questions:

COLD WEATHER REMINDERSJust a reminder to dress students appropriately for Colorado’s ever changing weather. In winter months, a warm morning can quickly change into a winter blizzard. Since students are outside before and after school as well as during recess, appropriate dress would include hats, gloves and winter coats. Snow boots should also be worn for outdoor activities in the winter.
NO ANIMALS ALLOWED ON CAMPUSThis is just a gentle reminder that animals are not allowed on school property. Thanks for your understanding.
