LEARNING ABOUT COLORADO HISTORY THROUGH MUSIC
Fourth graders are learning about Colorado history in social studies and the arts.  To accompany their work in the classroom, students are learning songs that are unique to our state, including a song on the state flower and our state symbols.  Classes performed for their families and it was clear that they mastered the content in a fun, engaging and hands-on way.

CMAS TESTING GRADES 3-5
Students in grades 3-5 will begin their state testing when we return from spring break.  Students in the intermediate grade will be assessed in literacy and math using the state CMAS assessments, or the Colorado Measures of Academic Success.  Fifth graders will take an additional science assessment. The testing schedule is shown below.  Please refrain from scheduling outside appointments during all testing times.  We also recommend that students get plenty of rest and eat a healthy breakfast during the testing window.

YOUNG AMERITOWNE
Students put their knowledge of communities and financial literacy to the test during their field trip to Young AmeriTowne.  Students are immersed in a a community simulation through this field trip.  Students have been busy preparing in prior weeks for a unique position within the community, such as an accountant, town judge, police officer and mayor.  Today students worked together to fulfill their roles and responsibilities and ensure the town ran smoothly.  We thank our many parents who helped prepare students for this fun event.
